8 Game Pro Set

The games that we will be playing this season will be a combination of an 8 game Pro Sets and a Round Robin match. Adult tennis, High School Varsity and USTA 18 & Under Juniors- play 3 sets. All other lower Juniors in USTA , ATLA and High School Junior Varsity(JV) use the 8 game Pro Sets. It is a faster match and easier for lower level players. On Monday the boys will play this 8 game format, which means there are 8 games in their match and there will be 6 matches played that day.
At the end of the season, I hope we can all get together for an Awards Banquet!

Calling All Volunteers!

Attention Tennis Parents!
Your 1st Opportunity to Volunteer is here!
We need Locker Decorations for our Players!
Take a Look at the Locker Site:
http://www.lockerdecorating.blospot.com/
for an idea of what is expected.
The first one needs to congratulate them for joining the club! . . .GSMTS's first sport opportunity! So lets show the celebration!
Leave a comment is you are interested in join the fun committee! It would involve making a talisman for each player before each event. Completed Decorations would need to be taped to the player's locker right before match or event. Scrapbookers will be good at this activity. So- - - lets cheer on our Team!!!

Tennis Photos

AW! This is Kevin (your Team Captain)at Clemson tennis camp in 2005! So, cute! (Any mom would say so!)

Ms. Smith, Robert's mom has volunteered to take a team photo for us. So, keep in mind that you should be working on parts of a team uniform. Something black for court bottoms. . . shorts, skirt, warm-ups, etc. The shirt should be solid white or one you ironned the GSMST Patch on. You can also order a shirt from the GSMST section of the Printfection site. The products there are featured at no commission prices.
Leave a comment if you have any questions.

On the Printfection website under our GSMST section, I added a pocket Logo shirts for those who have been asking. I am also making an iron-on pocket patch for those interested. Let me know if you want one to iron yourself on your own shirt. I will send them to school with Kevin. Please leave a comment with your name if you want one.
Thanks, Ms Cyndi

Need a Racket?

Let me know if you need a racket. I am working with USTA on funding and equipment.

What Day for Practice?

Now that we know that we are using the Duluth High School courts, we have to decide which days!? We can use the courts starting at 4:30 and ending at 6pm. I think we should choose 2 days, that way you can come to both or just 1 depending on homework.
Or should we go for 3 days until we start playing again other schools?
Leave a comment to give me your choice.

Spirit Wear

OK-here it is. The start of a uniform. When we get together to visit other teams or play a match, lets wear black shorts, skirts or warm-up. Whatever you have to waer on the court that's black. The T-shirt should be solid white or one of the shirts purchased from the Printfection site.
Here is the link:

Take a look and tell me what you think of the design and choices.

This is the Beginning!

This is the offical beginning of GSMST's Tennis Club!
There are 29 student players on our Roster so far! And we are still taking registration forms! As of today, we can practice on Duluth High School Courts and look forward to a"friendly scrimmage" with their team!
Thanks Duluth for starting us off!
